The Queen of Spades is a wonderful foundational book. It was a quick read, and wasn’t overwhelming. I’m new to Hoodoo and I can say that this book answered some questions that I had, and also gave me some needed info on the origins of Hoodoo. You also get a nice amount of spells as well. All in all, I’m gaining a better understanding of the Hoodoo tradition becuase of Queen Co. Meadows and after reading this book, and I’m excited to learn more. If you are new to the tradition, this book is definitely for you.

I finally received my queen of spades and mama mojo books and I’m glad I purchased these books as I can use them and hand down to my daughter. Queen of spades has instructions for every type of work needed in life! Mama mojo has everything a woman needs from a mothers point of view. These are must haves for any african american who is spiritually motivated! I love how it’s straight to the point. Also these books both written by trusted sources in the spiritual African American community!

Heavens & High Magick is a excellent beginner’s guide to astrology as well as a great intro into High Magick. I don’t wanna give spoilers but I do highly recommend getting this book especially if your drawn to it. I’d consider it a must read if you do practice high magick.

This review revolves around all the books I have purchased. I will say relating to all the books, you can sense the pride and love that the authors have. Another thing I love is the text, for someone who suffers from ADHD, the amount of space, text, and certain breaks to look at the spells/information, really didn’t cause me to become overwhelmed and was easy to re-read (which I usually have to do). That might not seem intriguing to others, but it was definitely a bonus for me. These books are also very beginner friendly!
Queen Of Spades: is a great insight of traditional African American Hoodoo, that some will love. There is alot of appropriation these days, or even wanting to be the more “beautiful” praticitioner, it’s nice to see the raw this is what it is of it. She keeps it blunt and clear on what is what, her humor is even in the text, and if you have took some of her classes than you have heard some of these things. There is still more that she adds on that you haven’t, it’s great that it is in text form in order to bounce back and read em.
Mama’s mojo: this was a great insight on motherhood and feminity. This book really informs you that your own body has these magical elements that you wouldn’t even think of. An example: menstruation, in many cultures, it’s frowned upon of made the one who’s having it feel gross about it. This is also traditional in Hoodoo, so it has some roots!
Magia Magia: I loved learning Mexican magic, the beginnings, and certain beliefs. I believe this book can help anyone, who is of Mexican decent, born in another place where their culture is not in the surroundings as much. I’m an Afro-latina (my ancestors and grandparents come from Puerto Rico) and growing up in North America, I have lost a lot of my culture surroundings. I won’t get into details, however I know people who can understand where I am coming from when I say this. Great read, great information into another Latin culture practice, and it did pump me up to try and find insight on P.R.
Heavens&High Magicka: this was needed in my life and I’m sure others will love it as well. When I say this is an all for reading zodiac signs and their risings, it is. I know there are tons of books, videos, etc online, but it can be overwhelming ! This book keeps it just the right amount of what is needed to know. nice excercises to follow!

The book provides a plethora of great information, details, background history and even terminology. For those looking to live a more traditional spiritual life without all the glitter and know that the information comes from trusted and respected sources with results; this book is for you.
The Queen provides many workings and even substitutions that you can use if you are not able to purchase some of her products for these workings. It’s that type of book that makes you think, hmmm, I remember my grandmama telling me this when I was younger. From the beautiful cover to the information and workings provided, you won’t disappointed. Also, the Bonne Chance oil that came with it.. let’s just say I’ve been getting blessings in my palms since! Literally 10 minutes after I put it on, I received $100. So be sure to thank her and her elders and ancestors for providing the community with trusted results.

Queen of Spades is the truth and nothing but the truth when it comes to what Hoodoo is and isn’t. If you are not ready for said truth then prepare yourself accordingly. I wanted to stop thru and leave a review for Magia Magia. I tried The tobacco conjure spell. When I say The spirits of tobacco came thru for me, honey they came thru. I did The spell, forgot about it and maybe a week or so later communication started. It went from no communicating to 3 times in one week. This book is awesome. Thank you for the book and thank you Spirit of tobacco. I love The books and learning I have Everything I need Right here at home.
